Nasal Polyps :An Etiological Analysis

Nasal polyps,the prolapsed linings of nasal mucosa are one the commonly encountered conditions in theoutpatient department otolaryngology, The aim this study is to etiology polyps andalso compare between different methods used for diagnosis polyps.This was submitted prospectively on 100 patients diagnosed with (diagnosed eitherclinically or radiologically) evidence obstruction,rhinorrhae and headache. from April 2015till 2017. All had been selected outpatient clinics Al-Zahraa University Hospitaland Kobry El Koppa military hospital. approved by ethics committee Al Azhar Facultyof Medicine.A total were analyzed, age range 18 56 yrs a mean 38.5 yrs. There 83 maleand 17 female. main presenting symptoms obstruction rhinorrhea. Most cases wasbilateral polyps,. commonest clinical diagnoses non-neoplastic simple 84% andabout 13% benign neoplastic, 3% malignant . histological among nonneoplastic allergic polyp, neoplastic inverted papilloma.most lesions presented unilateral polyps,where epistaxis noticed mostlywith vascular tumour ones. results show that most especailly bilateral ones,also proper evaluation clinical, radiologicaland histopathological should be done all patients.
